The team at Queensland Centre for Digestive Medicine has distinguished itself as a unique medical institution, incorporating both health maintenance and prevention in the practice of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy.
These specialty fields of medicine deal primarily with conditions of the digestive tract, which is made up of the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Our goal is to maintain health primarily through prevention, intervention and maintenance.
Located in Toowoomba, Queensland, The Queensland Centre for Digestive Medicine strives to provide excellence in gastroenterology, offering patients a high standard of professional care and a holistic approach to digestive disease management.
Dr Craig Halliday is the director of Queensland Centre for Digestive Medicine. He graduated (with Honours) in medicine from University of Queensland in 1979. He specialised in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology (the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and liver) at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.
He was awarded FRACP in 1986. Dr Halliday has been a Gastroenterologist for almost 30 years and has spent most of this time working in Toowoomba. He has a special interest in the management of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and viral Hepatitis.
Dr Andrew St John
Dr Andrew St John is a general gastroenterologist with a specific interest in therapeutic endoscopy. He completed his advanced training in gastroenterology at the Mater and Princess Alexandra Hospitals in Brisbane before completing advanced endoscopy training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital under the guidance of Dr Luke Hourigan.
Dr St John has a special interest in ERCP and pancreatobiliary endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Dr St John has established the first EUS service in Toowoomba through the Toowoomba Hospital.
Dr Andy Lee
Dr Andy Lee is a Gastroenterologist who has worked throughout Queensland including Toowoomba, Cairns, Mater & Princess Alexandra Hospitals. Prior to returning to Toowoomba he worked in England as a Consultant Gastroenterologist after initially starting as a Fellow in Advanced Endoscopy. He has interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease & Complex Colonoscopy including luminal stenting & tissue or endoscopic mucosal resection of complex polyps.

Amy is our in-clinic Nurse. She works alongside our team to provide specialist nursing care for our patients.
Meet Hannah & Steph; experienced in digestive and gut health. Our Accredited Practicing Dietitians can provide important guidance, dietary advice and nutritional interventions in the treatments of a large number of digestive concerns.
