.

What is a Liver Biopsy

A liver biopsy is performed to determine the cause of liver disease. A sample of liver tissue is extracted and analysed in a laboratory to help doctors diagnose a variety of disorders and diseases in the liver.

How is a Liver Biopsy performed?

A thin needle is placed into the liver and removing a small piece of tissue. The procedure is usually performed in hospital and in most cases as a day procedure.
