Open Access

The principle of the ‘Open Access’ or direct referral system is to allow patients the opportunity to have routine gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures without prior consultation with a Gastroenterologist.

The patient, who is referred by a Doctor, must have few or no medical complaints to access this system. This ‘Open Access’ process provides the medical community and their patients with an efficient, cost effective and timely gastrointestinal service.

Colonoscopy and gastroscopy are the most common procedures performed by Gastroenterologists on an ‘Open Access’ basis.
